Suresh Raina was unsold at the blockbuster auction, according to Kumar Sangakkara

Raina, the IPL’s fourth-highest run-scorer, went unsold in the super auction for 2022 last month.
During the IPL 2022 super auction, many players made fortunes while franchises snatched up a few others as steal bargains. Unfortunately, some more experienced players, including Suresh Raina, went unsold due to a lack of interest. Despite being one of the most accomplished performances in IPL history, at the two-day tournament in Bengaluru last month, none of the clubs expressed interest in bringing Raina on board. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara has explained why the senior middle-order hitter has been unable to find a buyer.

As time passes, the players change: Kumar Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan cricketer.

It can be viewed in a variety of ways. Players change with time, and newer players establish fresh reputations,” Sangakkara stated, as quoted by Zee News.
“In the case of Suresh Raina, his IPL cricket reputation is unrivalled. He has been an incredible legend after season, consistently ranking among the most outstanding performers. When you get down to the nitty-gritty, it’s possible that the player isn’t right for that season. It doesn’t negate the fact that the player is one of the best or exceptional quality, and it’s something that analysts, coaches, and owners seek for,” he continued.
Suresh Raina has 5528 runs from 205 matches at an average of 32.52 and a strike rate of 136.73, including a century and 39 half-centuries, making him the tournament’s fourth-highest run-scorer.
Meanwhile, Sangakkara has been retained as the Rajasthan Royals’ head coach for the IPL 2022 season, which begins on March 26. Kerala stumper Sanju Samson will lead the team for the second time. Last season, RR had a forgettable campaign, finishing ninth. After rebuilding their squad this time around, a new-look Rajasthan will be hoping to make apologies.

ALL IPL SEASONS WILL BE PLAYED BY EIGHT PLAYERS

ALL IPL SEASONS WILL BE PLAYED BY EIGHT PLAYERS

This year marks the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since its inception in 2008, the world’s richest cricket league has expanded by leaps and bounds. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. Over the years, many players have graced this tournament. The baton has passed through numerous hands throughout a generation. However, a few players have remained consistent throughout the game. They’ve appeared in the previous 14 seasons, and they’re back again this year.

Players play all IPL Seasons Will:-

1. Manish Pandey:

In the IPL, Manish Pandey was the first Indian to score a century. In the second edition of the IPL held in South Africa, he achieved this achievement. Manish Pandey was a member of India’s 2008 U-19 World Cup-winning team and was signed by the Mumbai Indians for the inaugural season. In 2009, he transferred to the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2011, Pandey joined the Sahara group-owned Pune Warrior India (since defunct) before being selected by KKR in 2017. The opportunities he found at KKR drew him back into the picture. Pandey scored over 400 runs in his first season with KKR and quickly established himself as a critical team member. The Kolkata Knight Riders won their second IPL title thanks to his 94-ball effort in the final against Kings XI Punjab. In his 154-match career, Pandey has several match-winning innings. This season, he will play for the Lucknow Super Giants.

2. Robin Uthappa:

Robin Uthappa played for the Mumbai Indians in their maiden season in 2008 before joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the next two seasons. Uthappa was a natural at scoring runs from the start. In 2010, he made his debut for RCB as a finisher. After three seasons with Pune Warrior India, Uthappa went to Kolkata Knight Riders, where he flourished. In each of his six seasons, he has scored over 300 runs, including 660 in his first season with KKR. Uthappa then spent a season with the Rajasthan Royals before joining CSK in 2021. Last year, he was a key member of CSK’s title-winning team, and the franchise has retained him this year.

3. Wriddhiman Saha:

Wriddhiman Saha has played every IPL season and is widely regarded as India’s top wicketkeeper. Saha played for West Bengal in domestic cricket and was a Kolkata Knight Riders’ initial team member. Saha moved to Chennai Super Kings in 2011 after spending the first three seasons of the IPL with KKR. After four seasons with Kings XI Punjab, Saha joined Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018. Saha’s time with Kings XI Punjab was action-packed. He was selected as a specialist wicketkeeper, and he exceeded expectations not just with his wicket-keeping but also with his bat. Saha hit a century (115* off 55) in the final against the KKR in 2014, scoring 362 runs at an average of 32.90. Despite his century being in vain, he made history by becoming the first player to make a century in an IPL final. This season, Saha will play for the Gujarat Titans.

4. Shikhar Dhawan:

During his U-19 years, Shikhar Dhawan was a household name. Since then, he’s been pounding on the doors of Indian cricket, but he’s gone ignored. After Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, Shikhar Dhawan was one of the most renowned names in contention for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the inaugural edition of the IPL. He lived true to his reputation, scoring 340 runs in 14 games, including a career-best of 68*. On the other hand, Shikhar was traded to the Mumbai Indians and had a disappointing season. After that, he transferred to the (now defunct) Deccan Chargers, where he scored over 400 and 500 points in the following two seasons. Shikhar was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013 and spent the next six seasons with the team. For the last three seasons, he has been with the Delhi Capitals. Shikhar has 5784 runs in 192 IPL matches. In the IPL, he is the only player to score a consecutive century. In the 15th season, Shikhar will represent the Punjab Kings. Here, you can find all of the IPL betting apps for iOS and Android and information on how to bet online.

5. Dinesh Karthik:

Dinesh Karthik was born during MS Dhoni’s reign, and he was always in his shadow and never had a chance to be India’s first-choice wicketkeeper. On the other hand, Karthik is an excellent wicketkeeper and a prolific scorer in the IPL. He debuted in the IPL in 2008 with the Delhi Daredevils and has since played for several other franchises. Karthik has established himself as a finisher in recent years, combining class and skill. During his time with the Kolkata Knight Riders, he was nothing short of amazing. In 2018, KKR purchased Karthik, and he led the team to the playoffs. He was in great form in that time, scoring 498 runs at a 49.8 average in several match-winning innings. Karthik has played 213 games and scored 4046 points in the last 14 seasons. For the 15th edition of the IPL, Karthik has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

6. MS Dhoni:

MS Dhoni, the first-ever winner of the T20 World Cup, was the IPL’s most popular pick in its debut season in 2008. He was the most expensive player in the IPL’s inaugural season and has remained with the franchise ever since, except for two seasons when CSK was sacked. He then became a member of the Rising Pune Giants, leading them to the 2017 Indian Premier League finals. After Rohit Sharma, MS is the second most successful captain in the IPL. In 2010 and 2014, he guided CSK to four titles and two champions league T20 titles.
Throughout the competition, MS has been a prolific run-scorer, putting up a slew of clutch hits towards the conclusion of innings. He has been a steady scorer for CSK, accumulating 4746 runs in 220 games.

7. Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, is the only player who has spent the entire season with one team. Since 2008, Kohli has been a member of Royal Challengers Bangalore. After leading India to the U-19 World Cup win in 2008, he became a phenomenon. RCB believed in his ability and signed him for the inaugural season of the IPL, never letting him go. Virat Kohli scored 165 runs in 13 games during the inaugural season. In his early years, he didn’t do much running, and though he more than made up for it in the future. Kohli has progressed through the ranks throughout the years, improving as a batter with each passing year. Kohli was the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore for eight seasons. He was, however, unable to take home a trophy. Kohli had a fantastic year in 2016, leading RCB to the playoffs. That season, he had a mind-boggling 973 runs, with 400 of them being home runs. Kohli has been a consistent performer in the IPL and will continue to play for RCB this season.

8. Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma began his IPL career with the Deccan Chargers, which is now defunct. After three seasons with the Delhi Daredevils, Rohit moved to the Mumbai Indians and found a permanent home. In his early years, Rohit was a phenomenon. Though he was not particularly successful in his early years, his flashes of brilliance were enough to convince the world that he was unique. Former cricket fans would remember his last-ball six against KKR’s Mashrafe Mortaza while playing for the Deccan Chargers. Rohit Sharma is not just a great batter, but he is also the most successful captain in the history of the Indian Premier League. Since taking over the Mumbai Indians in 2013, he has led the team to five championships. Rohit Sharma has 5611 runs in 213 IPL matches.

Aakash Chopra Discusses Which Indian Players Can Replace Mark Wood At Lucknow Supergiants

Following Mark Wood’s injury, former Indian batter Aakash Chopra believes the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) should look into several Indian players. Despite a severe elbow injury that will keep him out for a while, the English bowler will not play in the IPL 2022. The new team has yet to identify his replacement for the 32-year-old speedster. Last month, Wood was purchased 7.5 crores at the two-day IPL 2022 major auction. In the early overs, he was obliged to share the new ball with Avesh Khan in a searching combination.

Even though the team’s substitute roster is thin, the former player mentioned a few Indian talents who could be considered. Chopra said on his YouTube channel:

“Among the Indian candidates are Kulwant Khejroliya, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Sandeep Warrier. These players present themselves as options after being unsold in auctions.” Chopra went on to say, ”

“Ishant Sharma is another option. It’s starting to look a little skinny right now.”

Despite going unsold for his starting price of 1.5 crores at the auctions, Ishant Sharma elected to return to the local circuit for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy. His seasoned bowler appears to be out of the running for a spot in the national team.

The absence of international players is a problem early in the campaign, according to Aakash Chopra:
Chopra believes that the lack of international players in the season’s early stages could damage teams like the Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Many foreign players will be on international duty and unavailable for the first leg, which begins on March 26. “According to Chopra.

“The Delhi Capitals have only three international players available. The Lucknow Super Giants are having similar problems, and a handful of their stars will be unavailable.”

The Lucknow Super Giants will begin their season on March 28 when they face the Gujarat Titans. Both teams will be represented in the IPL for the first time.
The Lucknow Super Giants will begin their season on March 28 when they face the Gujarat Titans. Both teams will be represented in the IPL for the first time.

5 OVERSEAS WHITE-BALL SPECIALISTS WHO FAILED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE IPL

As India celebrates Holi, the festival of colours, it marks the start of the biggest festive season, which will last until May 29. Yes, we are only a fortnight away from the beginning of another season of the IPL. The 15th season promises to be larger and more exciting than the previous 13 seasons. The cash-rich league will have ten teams for the first time since 2011. The cherry on top: ten teams have been divided into two groups. The tournament rules were also changed to make the league more exciting. Foreign players have played an essential role in the IPL extravaganza. The players have played a significant role in making the IPL one of the most successful league tournaments. Many foreign players have represented their countries in the IPL throughout 14 seasons. These players were chosen based on their reputation in other T20 leagues worldwide. Some players lived up to their billing, while others were a colossal flop. This article looks at five overseas white-ball specialists who failed to impress the tournament.

1. Tillakaratne Dilshan:

Tillakaratne Dilshan has been a part of the IPL for six years and is widely regarded as the most dynamic batsman to have revolutionised modern-day cricket. Dilshan made his debut for the Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural season, now the Delhi Capitals. He appeared in 27 games for the franchise and scored 566 runs at a below-average average of 22.
Dilshan then joined RCB, where he partnered with Chris Gayle at the top. From 2011 to 2014, Dilshan appeared in 25 matches. However, in terms of runs, the Sri Lankan scored 587 at a strike rate of 105. Dilshan was part of the core group that brought 360-degree shots into the spotlight in the early days of T20Is, including his famous dill scoop. However, he did not live up to his potential in the IPL.

2. Ashton Turner:

When Australia came to India for a three-match ODI series in 2019, Ashton Turner was that surprise package. In Mohali, he hit 84* off 43 balls to help Australia chase down a daunting target of 359 in 48 overs. When the centurion’s wicket, Peter Handscomb, fell in the 42nd over, it appeared that India would take the game from there, but Turner had other plans. He smoked the spinners all over the park. However, the highlight of the inning was when Turner took India’s best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, to the cleaners. Everyone expected him to be the next Michael Bevan. He was immediately signed by the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. But what happened next will go down in IPL history. Turner set an unfavourable record when he scored three consecutive ducks. He played four matches that season, with the best score of three. Turner never played for another IPL team after that fiasco.

3. Tymal Mills:

RCB’s bowling woes, particularly in the death overs, needed to be addressed. Their bowlers leaked runs during that phase of play. As a result, RCB lost many games from winning positions. RCB signed Tymal Mills in the 2017 auction to address this for a whopping Rs 12 crore. The Englishman had a reputation as a death-over specialist when he joined the IPL.
Mills appeared in five games, taking five wickets at an economy rate of 8.57. He was eventually benched and did not play for the rest of the season. Mills returns to the IPL after a five-year absence, having been selected by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 mega auction for Rs 1.5 crore. Only time will tell if he can finally live up to his reputation or if he will have another flop season.

4. D’Arcy Short:

D’Arcy Short, Australia’s daring ex-opener, has been a strong force in the BBL for the Hobart Hurricanes. The southpaw had a breakout season in BBL 07, winning the tournament after accumulating 504 runs, including a scintillating century. He also held the record for the most sixes hit in a single season until it was broken two years later by Liam Livingstone.
The 31-year-exploits old’s earned him a spot in the IPL. The same year, the Rajasthan Royals signed Short for Rs 4 crore in the hope that he would add firepower to the team. But he was a flop in his first season. Short scored 115 runs in 7 games with a strike rate of 116.16. He was released in the middle of the season and has never been picked up by another team.

5. Tim Southee:

Tim Southee, the linchpin of New Zealand’s bowling attack, has been a fixture in the IPL since 2011. The Kiwi pacer represented CSK in the early years. He appeared in five matches, taking four wickets at a dismal average of 41.50 and an economy rate of 8.73. Southee was let go by the franchise following his poor performance. He later played for RR in 2014 and RCB in 2019. Southee took over for Pat Cummins in 2021 and was also selected by the franchise for IPL 2022.
Southee has played 43 IPL matches and taken 31 wickets. His record in T20Is, on the other hand, tells an entirely different storey. Southee is the second-highest wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals, with 111 wickets in 92 games at a respectable average of 24 and an economy rate of 8.19.

UMESH YADAV JOINS THE CAMP OF THE KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS

Umesh Yadav joined the KKR squad bio-bubble before the pre-IPL training. It’s also somewhat of a homecoming for the pace bowler, who has previously provided match-winning performances for the Knights. He was a member of the KKR team from 2014 to 2017.
However, things will be a little different for the right-arm fast bowler this time. The once-reliable pacer has been withdrawn from the national squad due to a dip in form and the emergence of new young pacers. A good IPL season may allow Yadav to restore his place in the team.

KKR, on the other hand, debuted its new uniform on Friday (March 18). Shreyas Iyer, the new skipper, attended the occasion. In their opening match of the season, KKR will face defending champions CSK on March 26.
The Knight Riders are the sixth franchise to unveil their new uniform, with just over a week until the start of the IPL 2022 season. It’s worth mentioning that KKR supporters have already begun sharing photos of new skipper Shreyas Iyer wearing the new KKR shirt 2022. The photographs were published in response to a promotional video Iyer was filming in the lead-up to the IPL 2022 season being shared on social media. Umesh Yadav was one of the essential additions to KKR’s roster before the auction. This time, England is led by Shreyas Iyer, who took over as white-ball skipper from Eoin Morgan.

New Captain Shreyas Iyer For KKR:

Iyer was freed ahead of the Capitals’ significant auctions, and KKR paid a record sum of Rs 12.25 crore for the 27-year-old Mumbaikar, who won the rising Player of the year award in 2015.
Before the start of this year’s tournament, Shreyas had been in excellent form, receiving the Player of the Series award in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in which he hit three back-to-back fifty-plus runs and went undefeated. He extended his brilliant white-ball form in Test cricket, scoring half-centuries in both innings of the second Test against the island nation in Bengaluru.

IN DEATH OVERS, THESE ARE THE 5 BOWLERS WITH THE MOST WICKETS

One of the things that the IPL has done for cricket, in general, is to raise awareness of the importance of death-over bowling. Bowlers in the Test and ODI formats of the game are under pressure to keep the opposition’s run-rate under control. The game plan drastically alters once teams begin playing in the T20 format. Bowlers are under pressure to take wickets, especially in the final overs of the game. Breaking a partnership in the last overs of a game might help a team win a match. It doesn’t matter how excellent a team is; if they don’t have a skilled death-over bowler, there’s a good chance they’ll lose the game. The ability to handle pressure during critical game stages is the first and most important quality of a death-over bowler. Another trait is the ability to pick important wickets in the final stages of a game. With these two attributes, any death-over bowler can become a game-changer. The IPL 2022 season is going to begin. All of the franchises have completed their rosters. Teams are now putting together their starting lineups. As a result, they’ll need to make room for a death-over bowler.

Thefivemost successful death-over bowlers are listed here:-

1. Lockie Ferguson:

During the IPL 2022 mega auction, Gujrat Titans purchased a high-quality bowler from New Zealand. Lockie Ferguson used to warm the bench when Pat Cummins played for the Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand, Ferguson will be in action from the first day of the event.
Because of his international commitments, Lockie only played in 8 IPL 2021 matches. He took 13 wickets for a 7.43 economy rate. This year, he will play more games with Gujarat Titans, and the squad will rely on him to pick wickets in the death overs.

2. Dwayne Bravo:

Dwayne Bravo is one of the few pacers who has been a part of the IPL. He is a global T20 cricket superstar who can be found in practically every T20 cricket competition. The two-time purple cap winner has contributed to some of the most memorable moments in IPL history. Chennai Super Kings repurchased bravo because of his disciplined bowling.
Dwayne Bravo is a well-known name when it comes to death by bowling. The 37-year-old has 82 wickets in death overs from his career aggregate of 153 in 140 matches and needs eight more to surpass Lasith Malinga’s total.

3. Sunil Narine:

Suni Narine’s release by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2021 came as a surprise. For a long time, Narine has been Kolkata’s most devoted player. With his constant bowling in the death overs, mystery spinner Sunil Narine has proven cricket pundits wrong who believe spin spinners should not bowl in the slog overs.
Because of his quality, Narine was rehired by KKR for six crores at the IPL mega auction. He made his IPL debut with KKR in 2012 and has been with the team. So far in the death overs, Narine has taken 18 wickets.

4. Harshal Patel:

During the IPL 2021, the making of Harshal Patel was a fairytale storey that everyone observed. Harshal won the purple cap with Bangalore in the 2021 season after being bounced about between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals. In just 15 overs, he took 32 wickets. Harshal has established himself as the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s most reliable death-over bowler. In 2021, he took 19 wickets in his death-over bowling. Eighteen of the wickets were taken by slower balls. Bangalore purchased him again during the auction for 10.75 crore due to his disciplined bowling. Harshal also matched Dwayne Bravo’s IPL record for most wickets in a single campaign.

5. Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah is a complete package of superb bowling and a player who can keep his cool in the most trying situations. He has established himself as an unstoppable force globally and in Indian cricket. Bumrah is a natural talent who has benefited much from Lasith Malinga’s mentoring. Both players used to be the Mumbai Indians’ winning factor.
Bumrah has 53 wickets in his death over bowling career. Bumrah’s strengths in the match include his quickness, yorkers, and calmness. He has been a match-winner for Team India for a long time, not only in the IPL.

THE NCA REPORT WILL DETERMINE DEEPAK CHAHAR’S AVAILABILITY FOR THE IPL

In the next 48 hours, the Chennai Super Kings will face a critical test. The MS Dhoni-led team expects the National Cricket Academy’s report on Deepak Chahar’s injury. NCA should reveal the ultimate status of Chahar’s injury in a day or two, according to CSK’s CEO. Chahar’s services cost the four-time IPL champions a lot of money, and they spent INR 14 crores for the player in the IPL 2022 auction. Chahar, who was slated to start for the Dhoni-led team in their title-defending season, was injured only days before the season began. However, one week after the auction, the Agra-born bowler tore his right quadriceps in a T20I match against the West Indies. Deepak Chahar is doubtful for the Sri Lanka series due to a hamstring ailment.

CSK Is Awaiting the NCA Report:-

Last month, Deepak Chahar got injured in a T20I match against the West Indies. He is now having treatment at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA). Chahar’s injury is significant, and he is expected to miss the entire IPL season.
CSK is currently awaiting the NCA’s detailed injury status report. In an interview, Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of CSK, stated that the franchise is awaiting the news, and Kasi anticipates receiving the information within the next 48 hours.
“We have not heard anything from the BCCI or the NCA regarding Deepak Deepak Chahar’s injury.” We are not considering a successor at this time. “We could see MS Dhoni giving confidence to the younger kids, the uncapped ones, whether Tushar Deshpande, Simarjeet Singh, bowls for Delhi in the powerplay [or] Mukesh Choudhary – he’s a left-arm who bowls at fair speeds… “These players would need a little bit of pace on the Mumbai wickets so they can bowl,” Jaffer said ESPNcricinfo.
To make matters worse for Dhoni’s team, Ruturaj Gaikwad, the opening batsman, is unlikely to play in the IPL. Gaikwad is rehabilitating from a hand injury he sustained during the T20I series with Sri Lanka. Gaikwad and Chahar are both at NCA’s rehabilitation programme.
At Wankhede Stadium on March 26, Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the inaugural match of the IPL 2022.

HARDIK PANDYA OF THE GUJARAT TITANS PASSED THE FITNESS TEST BEFORE THE 15TH EDITION OF THE IPL

The biggest T20 league will get off in a few days with a match between CSK and KKR. Because two different teams have entered the competition, it will be a 65-day tournament this year. The Gujarat Titans and the Lucknow Super Giants are two new clubs in the 2018 season. However, some players are experiencing fitness concerns before the IPL’s start, which will be the most challenging obstacle for all clubs. Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya is one of the names on this list. For the past few months, the all-rounder has struggled with his fitness.
He last played in a competitive game in the UAE during the T20I World Cup. There is, however, some good news for Gujarat supporters. The BCCI performed a fitness test on the all-rounder, which he passed. And he’s fully qualified to compete in the 15th instalment of the cash-rich league.

All injured players were subjected to a fitness test by BCCI:-

All white-ball cricketers in India were invited to a camp conducted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The camp was held to assess their fitness levels in light of the cricket that Indian players will be playing. According to a BCCI source who spoke to the New Indian Express, Hardik was one of the guys who attended the camp among other players. And everyone was waiting to see if the all-rounder would be given the go-ahead. Ultimately, Hardik has passed the test and will be ready for the entire IPL season. And if he can play all of the matches without getting hurt, he’ll have a better chance of returning to the Indian setup.

During the test, Hardik Pandya also bowled:

During his test, the all-rounder also rolled his arm over, according to reports. And it’s been learned that he was cleared for bowling as well. Hardik Pandya requested that the medical team examine his bowling, and he was cleared to bowl. Even though he was said to be bowling at a pace of 135 kilometres per hour. With a score of 17 or higher, the all-rounder also passed the Yo-Yo exam, which is considered the most rigorous fitness test. According to the BCCI source, On March 28, the Gujarat Titans will face the Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to begin their season.

THERE ARE 3 PLAYER RIVALRIES TO WATCH OUT FOR IN THE COMING SEASON

To add to the thrilling element in the T20 league, the Big Bash League (BBL) introduces several revisions in competition rules and regulations. The BCCI has also devised a virtual seeding system, and they grouped the ten teams into two virtual groups based on the number of championships each squad had won. The IPL 2022 season will start with a blockbuster match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The much-anticipated showdown between Lucknow and Gujarat, the two new debutants, will also take place in the first week. While spectators are hooked to their televisions and mobile devices to witness these enthralling events, the enthralling competitions between players have also piqued their interest. This article looks at three such player rivalries to keep an eye on in the next season.

1. Virat Kohli vs Shreyas Gopal:

Virat Kohli’s battle with spin bowling is no longer a holy grail. Kohli’s strike rate against spin has dropped dramatically in the last three to four years, and Kohli had the lowest strike rate against spinners among hitters who faced more than 100 balls in the IPL 2021. Many bowlers, including Shreyas Gopal, have exploited his weakness against tweakers. Except for the Rajasthan Royals, Kohli has amassed many runs against all clubs. Against RR, he has an average of 21.58, which is awful by his standards. Shreyas Gopal is the domino effect. Kohli has been dismissed three times in six innings by the leg spinner. Gopal will play for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the coming season, but the rivalry will remain. Given that RCB is in the same group as SRH, the match-up between Kohli and Gopal will be interesting to watch.

2. Jasprit Bumrah vs Andre Russell:

The Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders match one of the most exciting in the IPL. Mumbai has trounced Kolkata, winning 19 games to Kolkata’s six victories. On the other hand, fans have been treated to some thrilling matches between the two teams.
But the rivalry isn’t complete until Jasprit Bumrah, and Andre Russell go head-to-head. Bumrah’s rabbit is now the West Indian power hitter, and Russell has been removed three times by the Mumbai Indians captain, who has surrendered 51 runs in 40 balls. But who knows, maybe the tides will flip in Russell’s favour in the next issue.

3. Trent Boult vs Prithvi Shaw:

Prithvi Shaw, the 2018 U19 World Captain, rose to prominence in the province with a century on his Test debut against the West Indies. India appeared to have discovered a strong opener for the future. Shaw has been compared to Virender Sehwag because of his lack of footwork but excellent hand-eye coordination. On the other hand, Pace bowlers exploited his vulnerability against the moving ball, which led to his demise. Trent Boult, noted for his enormous swing, has just removed Shaw for the third time in five innings, conceding 19 runs in 18 balls. In the coming season, the Kiwi pacer will play for Rajasthan Royals. The pitches in Mumbai and Pune will aid swing, putting Shaw, the cogwheel of the Delhi Capitals’ batting line, to the test once more.

GLENN MAXWELL SAYS VIRAT KOHLI IS MORE DANGEROUS AFTER LEAVING THE CAPTAINCY

According to Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli is no longer the “in your face” aggressive cricketer he once was. Along with Kohli, Maxwell was one of three players retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ahead of the IPL big auction in 2022. According to the Australian, Kohli’s departure from the team may be “bad news” for the opposition. Kohli stood down as RCB captain at the end of the IPL 2021 season. He also resigned as India’s T20I captain before being fired from his ODI position. Kohli even resigned as Test captain after India’s series defeat in South Africa earlier this year. Rohit Sharma has been named India’s new captain in all formats. Kohli commanded RCB for a decade but couldn’t help his team win their maiden IPL title. RCB has appointed former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Faf du Plessis as its new captain ahead of the tournament’s 15th season.

“Enjoy having nice discussions with Kohli regarding the game.” Maxwell, Glenn:-

Maxwell, who joined the Bangalore-based IPL franchise in 2021, had a fantastic first season. In 15 games, the explosive Australian batsman scored 513 runs, including six fifties, for an average of 42.75. He hit 144.10 per cent of the time to score those runs.

Further complimenting his former skipper, the former Mumbai Indians (MI) cricketer stated that he had noticed Kohli’s “emotions” and “decision-making” to be very measured. On March 27, RCB will play Punjab Kings (PBKS) at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to begin their IPL 2022 campaign.
