The much-awaited inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League, also known as TATA WPL 2023, is finally here. This women’s franchise Twenty20 cricket league is organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and is set to feature five teams battling it out for glory. The tournament is scheduled to take place from March 4 to March 26, 2023, promising to be an exciting showcase of women’s cricketing talent from India and around the world.
To kick off the tournament in style, the opening ceremony was held on March 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The ceremony featured stunning performances by AP Dhillon, Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani, setting the tone for an action-packed season of cricket. Fans and players alike are eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament, which promises to be a major boost for women’s cricket in India.
