Delhi Capitals

The franchise of Delhi Capitals was auctioned in 2008 IPL by the BCCI. The team represents the capital city of India, Delhi NCR. The team has not won any trophy yet. After a gap of 12 years, the team faced Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 final. The team qualifies for the IPL playoffs in 2019 for the first time in seven years. Initially, the team was named Delhi Daredevils but in 2018 franchise and sponsor decide to change the name to Delhi Capitals, as they believe that Delhi is the capital city and India’s power center.

JSW Group (50%) GMR Group (50%)

The property magnet GMR group bought the franchise for 84 million USD. Later on, they sold a 50 percent stake of the team to the JSW sports at 77 million USD.

DC Preview

The Capitals have a fantastic fast bowlers combo in Kagiso, Canada’s name (previous year purple cap winner), and Anrich Nortje. Other notable fast bowlers include world cup 2019 winner Chris Woakes, Marcus Stoinis, and Tom Curran. In the domestic fast bowlers, the team has Umesh Yadav, Lukman Meriwala, and Avesh Khan.

The team doesn’t have any Indian alternative for the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. If Pant misses any match, then taking any foreign player in his spot can disharmonize the team’s balance.

The spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Amit Mishra don’t have any alternative for them, and as we have witnessed, how often these two spinners got injured in the last few years do raise some concerns for the spinning zone of the team. However, Pravin Dubey, M Siddharth, Axar Patel are some spinners options in the team, but except Axar Patel, no other spinner is in good form.
