FAIZAL GURU

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala

Dimensions

This is one of the world’s most stunning and breathtaking cricket stadiums. A capacity of 23,000 people, the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association [HPCA] Stadium in Dharamsala is as picturesque as the Adelaide Oval and Newlands, if not more so. The ground is a small and glittering green plate with a snow-capped backdrop in the form of the Dauladhar mountain range in the background. The mountains, which are located at an elevation of 1317 metres above sea level, contribute to the tranquilly of the venue. Another notable feature is the stadium’s openness and small-sized stands, which allow for winds to sweep across the ground, providing assistance to fast bowlers in the air.

Pitch & Condition

The surface has historically favoured fast bowlers, and both teams may be tempted to include an extra pacer due to the favourable conditions. As a result of previous results on this surface, the captain who is awarded the toss will prefer to bat first, although the dew factor could be critical for the second bowling side.

It is expected that the par score will be in the range of 170-180.

With temperatures hovering around seven degrees Celsius, the weather is expected to be pleasant. Humidity levels will be in the 40s for the foreseeable future.

Toss Prediction

Four of the last five games have been won by the team that chose to bat first. When there are dew factors present, the pitch has proven to be advantageous to bowlers in the latter stages of the match so far.

Prediction: India will win the toss and will bat first, according to the toss prediction.

Point Table Analysis

India

In Twenty20 cricket, India once again proved to be too powerful for its opponents. As a result of this format, they have now won ten games in a row and are confident of extending the streak to eleven.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka was well behind the pace in the first Twenty20 International, but they should be able to catch up in this one. They will, however, need to make significant improvements if they are to win the game.

Team Analysis

India

The team India has once again put on an outstanding display of cricket with both bat and ball to win the second game of the T20 series and seal the series victory. Now, in the final game of the limited overs series, the hosts will face Sri Lanka in their home stadium. By winning the third game, the Indian team will have won 12 of their previous 13 Twenty20 matches. After opting to take the field first, the Indian bowlers were unable to pick up a wicket until the ninth over of the game. They have tried a variety of strategies, but Sri Lankan batters have put in a solid batting performance to set a target of 184 runs in 20 overs, which they hope to achieve. Despite the fact that the team’s bowling failed to keep the opposition to a low total, the Indian batters have stolen the show by chasing down this massive target with relative ease.

Both of India’s openers were dismissed within the first powerplay over, and the team was reduced to 2 for 44 in the first six overs. Shreyas Iyer, an Indian middle-order batsman, came to the rescue with a match-winning knock of not out 74 from 44 balls to give India the victory. Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder, scored not out 45 runs in 18 balls to help his team put on a 58-run partnership for the fourth wicket in the match. In the 18th over of the previous match, the Indian batters were able to easily secure a victory for their team. Because of the batting depth that the Indian team possesses, they are also considered favourites in the final match. The Indian team is riding a winning streak of 11 Twenty20 matches and will look to extend that streak in the final game of the series.

Sri Lanka

Despite the fact that Sri Lanka managed to post the team’s highest score so far in the series, they were unable to maintain their lead and went on to lose the second game of the series as well. They will play the hosts in the final game of the series in order to avoid a series sweep on Sunday. In the previous match, Sri Lanka was given the opportunity to bat first. The Sri Lankan batters got off to a confident start and put on a 64-run partnership for the first wicket to take the game to the visitors. Pathum Nissanka scored 75 runs in 53 balls, which was considered a good performance. Dasun Shanaka, the captain, launched an attack in the lower order, scoring 47 runs in just 19 balls to keep the game alive. The Sri Lankan batting unit has managed to score a total of 183 runs so far.

The Bowling unit failed to put forth any additional effort while defending this respectable target for the second time in a row. During that period, Sri Lanka’s captain used six different bowlers, all of whom conceded more than eight runs per over. In his three overs, Lahiru Kumara took two wickets for 31 runs and was dismissed. However, he was powerless to prevent his team’s defeat. Following their strong showing with the bat in the previous match, the Sri Lankan team will now look to put their plans into action with the bowling unit when they face the hosts in the final Twenty20 match of the series in Dharamsala.
