As it turned out, Virat Kohli did not have a good day. He got off to a blistering start with back-to-back boundaries before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. The former skipper lost two more wickets in 25 runs before he left the field. But it is never a wise decision to treat him lightly. As the number four batsman, Rishabh Pant has not performed well, and he has barely played since the position was fixed. There could be a change in the lineup with Suryakumar Yadav replacing Rishab Pant. Depending on Rahul’s availability, Hooda and Yadav may lose their place in the top eleven. Mohammad Siraj showed some promise turning the new ball in the first ODI. He will continue to dominate the pace attack along with Prasidh Krishna. The Indian spinners performed flawlessly. Chahal and Sundar sent 7 West Indian players packing. On the spinning front, no change is likely. I am sad to see Kuldeep Yadav on the bench again.
